Burning Man

Burning Man is an annual event takes place in the Black Rock Desert in the northwestern part of Nevada. This event has taken place here since 1991, though the event was first held in 1986. The event is a one-of-a-kind event that is guided by 10 principles: gifting, radical inclusion, radical self-reliance, decommodification, civic responsibility, radical self-expression, immediacy, participation, communal effort, and leaving no trace. The event derives its name from the symbolic burning of a wooden effigy known as “The Man”, which is set aflame on the Saturday prior to Labor Day.

The event is organized by the nonprofit organization Burning Man Project, which created the subsidiary Black Rock City LLC. This nonprofit organization endorses smaller events that take place in other regions both national and internationally. These events share the same core principles of the main event.

While the event started out as a place for those free-spirited people and those who follow the bohemian lifestyle, this event is now a popular event for celebrities, the elite of Silicon Valley, and social media influencers as well.

Burning Man 2021 is set to take place as it does every year, right around Labor Day. The dates for the 2021 event are August 30th to September 6th. You can purchase Burning Man tickets directly from the event website.
