Also known as the International Film Festival, the Cannes Festival is a film festival that takes place annually in Cannes, France. This festival was founded in 1946 and is an invite-only event that typically takes place in May. This is one of the most prestigious film festivals held annually. The Cannes Film Festival is an exclusive event, one where only industry professionals and the press can attend. Filmmakers and actors are given tickets and are typically penalized if they don’t use these tickets. The general public cannot purchase tickets to this event. However, fans can attend certain events, such as sidebars, that are not restricted only to festival goers.
In March 2020, the Cannes Film Festival was postponed due to COVID concerns and was later cancelled. This year, the event is currently scheduled to take place from July 6th to July 17th.
